Take the Navy launch to the USS Arizona Memorial. Oil, referred to as "black tears", still oozes to the surface from the USS Arizona, marring the blue waters. The Arizona deck rests six feet under the water surface. A free shuttle is run by the U.S. Navy between locations. The Japanese surrendered on the USS Missouri, which is now a memorial at Pearl Harbor. The USS Missouri is a 58,000-ton, 887-foot battleship, with 16" guns capable of firing 2,900 projectiles twenty miles, that served the United States from WWII to Desert Storm. The USS Bowfin submarine had an 80-man crew. Ford Island is an active Navy base.

The U.S. Military has initiated a ''no bags'' policy at the Arizona Memorial and Visitor Center. Tourists cannot carry anything that conceals the contents of their bags (purses, handbags, and backpacks). Visitors must wear closed-toe shoes. A small camera is allowed. Children should be older than 3 years old. The tour begins around 6:00am, so be ready for the full day event. This includes purses, handbags, backpacks, diaper bags, etc. A small camera is permitted. Please bring vital items in a manner that they can be placed in your pockets. Do not leave valuables on the bus. This tour does not operate Christmas, New Year's Day, or Thanksgiving.
