Description/overview
Take
a guided tour of a picturesque Hawaiian waterfall! Paddle on the
Wailua
River and hike through native flora and fauna. A day of
exploration and fun for the whole family!
Now
know as 1 of Hawaii’s
2 most sacred places, the Wailua
River
became the center of activity for early Hawaiians. By day, bird watch for a
night heron or coot; swim in a fern bordered pool at the falls. At night, it is
said that one can still hear ancient drums thunder in concert with the nearby
surf. Flowers, brooks, frame the trail leading to a secret waterfall and ferns
abound. The early Polynesian culture is represented here, steeped in a colorful
past, rich with rock-wall terracing, legends and lore.
